As of Wednesday evening my family has been undergoing a medical drama due to an injury sustained by my maternal grandmother. She was hospitalized and has since been moved to the ICU due to the discovery of both a pulmonary and a cardiac embolism, and the sudden drastic worsening of her COPD to Stage 4 (end stage or terminal).

My families relationship with my maternal grandmother is strained, to say the least; she has a caustic, toxic personality and a history of abusive behavior. However, my mother has chosen to be involved with my grandmothers medical decisions and is attempting to be supportive to my grandmother during the course of her illness. While I am not emotionally invested in the outcome of this situation, I'm doing my best to be supportive to my parents and aunt.

As a result, I may be lessening my online presence in the mean time while doing what I can for my family. Thanks for your understanding and consideration.
